Your love isn't staged. Your wedding film shouldn't be either.

You’ve spent months planning a wedding day that feels authentically you, not a production for a camera crew. You want a film that captures what your day actually felt like: the unscripted laughter during the toasts, the joy in your loved ones’ eyes, the quiet, poetic moments between the loud ones.

Our films have no staged poses and no formulaic montages. We create well-crafted documentary-style wedding films with the nostalgia and authenticity of a home video.

Who we are
We are Ben and Genevieve, a filmmaking duo who also happen to be a couple. We have spent most of our relationship making documentary films together. You can see our projects here and here

This year, we’re bringing our documentary experience to creating wedding films. We like to think our lack of entanglement with the wedding industry gives us a fresh, clean slate to work from. No formulas and no boxes to fit you into.

We’re often asked how we handle the pressure of a wedding day. Our answer is that our gear (and our sanity!) has survived documentary sets far more chaotic than a wedding reception (including muddy soccer, paint spills, and flying rocks).
We make true documentary style films. Not "documentary-style." Not "candid cinematic." Actual observational documentary filmmaking, the kind where us and our cameras fade into the background and let real life unfold. We've spent hundreds of hours learning how to capture life as it actually happens, not how to stage it.

Ben has worked extensively in documentary editing. Genevieve has many years of experience with documentary cinematography and photography. We both serve on the screening committee for CIFF, an awesome documentary film festival. We understand story, pacing, and how to shape raw footage into a film that feels authentic and true to your experience.

We are total documentary and film nerds. We are both huge fans of observational documentaries and cinema verité: think Grey Gardens, Gimme Shelter, and any documentaries that came out of the French New Wave. We also love analog tech. Genevieve is an avid film photographer and Ben always has a Field Notes in their pocket. If you own any Criterion DVDS... we might just be the people to film your wedding.

When we aren’t making films, you can find us outside hiking and camping, anywhere we get to be somewhere beautiful and spend time with our favorite person in the world! We truly believe we make each other better, and we are the luckiest people in the world to get to work together.

Our Work
The Process
We’re not making you a wedding video. We’re making a documentary about your wedding. Our goal isn’t to make your wedding look perfect, but to help you remember what it really felt like.

For us, a great documentary film starts with understanding who and what we’re filming. Before the cameras ever come out, we want to understand your story and what moments are the most important for us to capture. After you contact us, we'll set up a call to hear about your ideal vision and answer all your questions. We prioritize fast and clear communication at this stage, so that when your wedding day comes we aren’t just strangers with cameras, but informed observers.

On your wedding day, we never direct you or ask you to repeat moments. We remain observant and low-profile, documenting the day as it naturally unfolds. You focus on living in the moment while we capture the experience.

Editing is where the story is found. Post-production isn't about making a montage of moments set to music, it's where we turn hours of raw material into clean, poetic, and thoughtful coverage of your day. We professionally audio mix and color grade every film. You won't get a formulaic montage from us, you'll get a well-crafted film.

We are based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but we are willing to travel pretty much anywhere! Get in touch with us to discuss more about travel.
